Why It Works
EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) uses small electrical impulses to stimulate your muscles in a process know as passive exercise.
This stimulation is similar to the nerve pulses which cause muscles to contract and relax during active exercise.
The main difference is that you don't have to think about it. The resulting EMS muscle contractions cause toning, strengthening and combat flabbiness.

The Rio 60 Second Neck Toner has three exercise programmes. Best results are achieved by varying the programme used.
We recommend using Programme 1 on one day, followed by Programme 2 on the second day, followed by Programme 3 on the third day, and so on.
Firming Programme: Rhythmic muscle contractions to condition muscles with a short interval between each pulse. The muscle contraction lasts for 2 seconds followed by a 3 second pause. Extended Firming Programme: This offers an extended muscle contraction with pre-programmed varying intensity to maximise the work-out. The extended contraction lasts for 9 seconds followed by a 4 second pause.
Tap Toning Programme: Rapid stimulation to simulate deep massaging action. The pulsing massage action lasts for 5 seconds followed by a 3 second pause. To begin with the pulses give a mild tingling sensation and as the intensity is increased you will start to notice muscle contractions.
How to Use
Before you begin treatment it is important to do a patch test on an inconspicuous area of your skin for possible skin reaction. Wait 24 hours to see if any irritation occurs. To use apply a generous amount of conductive gel to each of the gold contacts and place in one of just three positions.
Turn on and the toning action will begin. You have total control easily increasing or decreasing the intensity while feeling the muscles contracting and relaxing in a rhythmic toning workout.
Treatment Areas Area 1: Place the unit underneath your chin being careful to avoid your adams apple. You can adjust the positioning slightly to give the strongest muscle contractions. Hold the unit in position for 60 seconds.
Area 2: Place the unit underneath your chin, and to the left, near to where you feel your pulse point. Again, adjust the positioning for the strongest muscle contractions. Hold the unit in position for 60 seconds.
Area 3: Place the unit underneath your chin, and to the right, near to where you feel your pulse point. Again, adjust the positioning for the strongest muscle contractions. Hold the unit in position for 60 seconds.

Why do I need to do a patch test?

Will the Neck Toner vibrate or make a noise?
No, the toner will not move, vibrate or make a noise. The product works by sending EMS pulses through the gold contacts, which will be felt as muscle contractions in the treatment area.
The green led continually flashes on & off, is this right?
Yes, after selecting your required program, there will be a brief pause before the green led begins to flash on & off throughout the treatment.
I cant feel anything, I am doing something wrong?
Ensure you are using the Conductive Gel, then try standing in front of a mirror and each time the green led flashes on, press and release the + button, it is important the + button is released if held down continuously as a safety feature the intensity will not increase. You may need to do this several times before you begin to feel a tingly sensation, continue to increase the intensity until you feel a definite muscle contraction. If this is uncomfortable you should decrease the intensity by pressing the - button.
How often can I use the Neck Toner?
As with all toning treatments, regular use is required. We recommend daily use for the first few weeks, alternating each day between the 3 treatment programs for maximum benefit. After this time, two or three times a week should be enough to maintain the results.
Can I use the Toner for more than 60 seconds, how can it work in 60 seconds?
We only recommend 60 seconds as it is very rigorous and effective. People can find there muscles ache excessively if they use it for longer periods. Remember we don't generally exercise some of the muscles we are targeting.
Do I have to use the Conductive Gel?
Yes the unit alone will be ineffective and using without conductive gel may cause discomfort. Is the conductive gel tested on animals or does it contain any animal ingredients? The conductive gel uses only mineral and/or vegetable ingredients and in line with the EU cosmetic directive is not tested on animals.
My teeth feel sensitive?
Your teeth may feel slightly sensitive during treatment, this is perfectly normal.
How do I clean 60 Second Neck Toner?
The unit may be cleaned by wiping with a damp cloth. Do not use solvents or detergents.
