Plus, you can enjoy up to 6 months of hair-free and smooth skin when you follow the recommended treatment plan. There's also a free Lumea app to download - available on both Apple and Android - where you can get personalised hair removal tips and IPL coaching. Not only will it help to boost your results, but you’ll get the most out of your device with a bespoke treatment plan for each body area.
What's Included
WHAT IS IPL?
IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light. It works by sending gentle pulses of light into the root of the hair. The hair then goes into a resting phase and gradually falls out. The amount of hair that your body grows will also decrease. Safe and effective, IPL hair removal can be used on the face and body - including on sensitive areas. Philips Lumea IPL devices have even been clinically tested and approved by dermatologists for their quality and safety.
IS IPL RIGHT FOR ME?
The Lumea Prestige is safe and effective for a wide range of skin types and hair colours. It works on naturally dark blonde, brown and black hair, and skin tones from very white to dark brown. IPL hair removal is not safe for those with white, grey, light blonde or red hair, and is not suitable for very dark skin. This is because these skin tones and hair colours don’t have the appropriate pigmentation required.
MAKE IT PERSONAL
Choose from 5 energy settings or allow the smart skin sensor to do all of the work. A variety of attachment heads also make it easy to tailor your hair removal treatment, depending on where you’re treating. These include:
•Underarm attachment - Curved in design, this is ideal for treating those hard-to-reach areas and comes with a medium-sized window. After using the Lumea, 86% of women were satisfied with hair reduction on their underarms.
•Bikini area attachment - Extra light and with a transparent filter for boosted comfort, this head adapts to your body’s contours for maximum contact. 78% of women said they were satisfied with hair reduction in the bikini area.
•Body attachment - With the largest treatment window, this head is perfect for quickly treating areas like the arms, legs and stomach. 83% of women were satisfied with the hair reduction on their legs.
•Face attachment - Ideal for your upper lip, chin or jawline, this attachment head has an extra filter for added safety as well as the smallest and flattest treatment window. 84% of women were satisfied with hair reduction on their face.
WHY IT WORKS
Even if you’ve never done a hair removal treatment before, it’s easy thanks to Lumea's SenseIQ technology. The skin sensor automatically detects your skin tone and chooses the right light setting for you. The smart attachments also adapt the treatment for your specific body area. In short, it does the thinking for you.
SAFE AND EFFECTIVE
Studies have shown that the Philips Lumea device reduces hair by up 92% in as little as 3 treatments. You can be confident in the safety of the device too as it comes with an integrated safety system to prevent unintentional flashing and an integrated UV filter to protect your skin.
IT'S AS SIMPLE AS
Step 1: Remove any excess hair. Attach your chosen treatment head.
Step 2: Hold the device on your skin to allow the sensor to adapt its setting.
Step 3: Slowly slide the device across the treatment area, avoiding flashing in the same spot. Repeat until the entire area has been treated.
The first 4 treatments must be carried out every 2 weeks for best results. To maintain results, use the device every 4 weeks for a top-up. After 8 top-up treatments, you can enjoy hair-free skin for up to 6 months.
