As one of the best-known names in hair removal, the Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) used in a Lumea device applies gentle pulses of light to your hair root, putting the follicle into a resting phase.
As a consequence, the amount of hair your body grows gradually decreases. By following the recommended treatment plan, you can enjoy an 85% reduction in just 3 treatments.
An easy-to-use corded IPL device, you are able to target your treatments with its interchangeable attachments heads. Its Body attachment (4 cm2) is perfect for use on areas below the neckline, treating your underarm, legs or arms.
For more specific treatments you can choose the Face attachment (2 cm2) for using on areas below the eyes like you chin, sideburns or upper lip, whilst the Bikini area attachment (2 cm2) is ideal for use on your bikini line.
Who Can Use Philips?
Philips is suitable for those with skin type I to IV according to the Fitzpatrick Scale. It is not suitable for use on blonde, white, grey or red hair.
Since light blonde, grey and white hair do not contain enough or any melanin, IPL treatment will never work on these hair colours. Red hair contains a different type of melanin, which is also not responsive to IPL.
Philips Lumea is also not suitable for dark skin tones, as it can cause skin damage such as burns, blisters or discolouring.

For girls with a tan skin, it works great! I loved this product and it works amazing! The only reason I am giving it 4 stars and why I said I loveD this product is because after 4 months the time stopped working. It turns on and light comes on but when i click the button to laser, nothing happens. Not sure how to fix this issue because I did do as instructions said to and it’s been about 2 weeks now of me trying to fix it and the item has been unusable :-(
