We're always on the look out for hair removal tools that keep our skin as radiant as possible, with as little pain, money and down time involved. So it's fair to say we were a little excited when we discovered the Hollywood Browzer, one of the best kept secrets of Hollywood celebrities and makeup artists for eyebrow shaping, removing unwanted hair.
The Hollywood Browzer shapes the eyebrows and removes unwanted facial and body hair with no pain, redness or irritation while exfoliating the skin at the same time. In just seconds, the Browzer quickly, easily and painlessly rids the skin of hair and dead skin cells giving you a bright, smooth, refreshed complexion.
If you've got a dermaplaning facial appointment booked or plan to visit a salon for an eyebrow wax, now is the time to cancel it. The Hollywood Browzer is here to save you time and money, plus you can do it on-the-go.
We sat down with Hollywood Browzer founder, Amy Anzel to find out all about the brand.
Where did the idea for Hollywood Browzer come from?
This concept came to me when I was living in Los Angeles and having my eyebrows shaped on a monthly basis by a Korean makeup artist who worked mainly with Hollywood celebrities. She used this type of tool not only to shape my brows, but then used it on the sides of my face to remove my ‘peach fuzz’. When I saw and felt how smooth my skin was afterwards and how my skin was glowing, I knew I needed to never be without one! However, when I went to buy this type of tool, I couldn’t find it anywhere in the UK after moving there, so I decided to manufacture the tool myself as I feel strongly that every single woman should own one like they do a lipstick. That’s how The Hollywood Browzer was born.
Who do you think has the best brows in Hollywood?
I love a strong, natural looking yet groomed brow, so my list would include Cara Delevingne, Sofia Vergara, Beyonce and Kim Kardashian.
Are they any products that go hand in hand with the Hollywood Browzer?
That really depends on whether you’re using the Browzer for shaping your brows or for dermaplaning (removing the peach fuzz and the dead skin cells from the face). I recommend of course using it for both! When you’re using it for eyebrow shaping, I would also use a spoolie to brush through your brows as well as a natural pencil and/or brow powder. If you’re using the Browzer for dermaplaning, use a moisturizer and/ or serum afterwards and you’ll notice that your skincare is better absorbed by the skin and thus more effective as it’s no longer being blocked by a barrier of dead skin cells and hair. The difference you’ll see before and after dermaplaning when it comes to your skincare is incredible! Also, your makeup will have a flawless finish after dermaplaning as you won’t be applying it on top of hair and dead skin cells. You’ll actually have a ‘clean canvas’ to work on! This is why so many makeup artists love The Hollywood Browzer.
The Browzer is also a great complimentary tool for those that are doing laser hair removal. It’s great to use it
between sessions as you’re not allowed to wax, thread or tweeze.
What has been your proudest business moment to date?
My proudest business moment to date was when the Browzer won the Best New Beauty Tool category at The Attracta Beauty Awards this year, which led to a great piece in the Daily Mail listing the Browzer as a ‘must-have’ beauty product.
Have you faced any struggles when setting up your business and how did you overcome them?
Yes, of course! I think every entrepreneur endures struggles not only in the beginning, but throughout their careers. Before launching The Hollywood Browzer, I had never manufactured anything before, so there was a very steep learning curve with lots of little mistakes along the way, but making the mistakes teaches you lots of lessons. That’s what makes you an even better businessperson. You learn more from your mistakes than you do when everything is going smoothly. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger!
What would you say to those with a great business idea who just can’t seem to get it up and running?
I would say to definitely persevere. You will hear so many ‘no’s’ along the way. I was once told that no stands for ‘New Opportunity’, which I have seen to be the case on many occasions! Also, don’t be afraid to reach out to people for help. Just make sure to only share your ideas with those you trust 100%.
