World Mental Health Day: How to look after your mental health during a global pandemic

It’s been a tough year to say the least and with everything that’s been going on, it’s important now more than ever to take care of your mind.

Mental health charity, Mind, conducted a survey which found that 65% of adults and 75% of young people said their mental health had deteriorated since the global pandemic hit. With many others developing new mental health issues as a result of this year’s event. So it’s no wonder that this year’s World Mental Health Day will be one of the most important ones yet.

On the 10th October, Mind encourages each and every one of us to ‘do one thing’, to take the first step in supporting ourselves, or a friend or family member with their mental health. Whether it’s accessing resources, trying something new or picking up the phone, this ever-important day is all about bringing everyone together to break the negative stigma surrounding mental health.

With so many people not being able to access mental health services during the global crisis, there’s one device that promises to alleviate symptoms of anxiety, stress, depressions and insomnia - Alpha-Stim AID.

Alpha-Stim AID: An NHS breakthrough

Alpha-Stim AID is a Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation (CES) device that uses tiny electrical impulses to calm and relax the body. As the symptoms associated with these disorders are controlled by electrochemicals in your brain, these pulses are sent to the body via earclips to rebalance the nerve cells in your brain and alleviate your symptoms.

This wearable device has been claimed as an NHS breakthrough, with trials conducted which showed that 72% of patients achieved remission after 12 weeks. After 24 weeks, 77% of those patients had achieved remission.

An honest review

One of our CB Society members, Danielle, has found using the during lockdown really helpful. Her son even trialled the device and has been sleeping much better.

Danielle says...

"OMG the device has been such a miracle worker! My son Joshua has had such amazing results, I am totally gobsmacked! He is so calm and sleeping so much better.

We haven’t been able to access mental health services for Joshua due to lockdown. I can’t imagine how he would be now, without using the device. I really do think it’s made such a difference for him.

For myself, my sleep has dramatically improved, I am also less anxious. I’ve found it so much easier to relax and not have to worry about this virus. I think the device is fabulous as another method for treatment for both depression and anxiety."
