Our Leading Ladies: Meet Tera Peterson

To celebrate International Women’s Day on the 8th March, we spoke to some of the women behind our best-loved brands. From what it’s really like in the industry and the biggest lessons they’ve learned, to what advice they would give to other females, join us as we celebrate our leading ladies.

We caught up with Tera Peterson, Microcurrent Aesthetician and Co-Founder of NuFACE - the leader in at-home Microcurrent Skincare™ offering a range of award-winning devices and topical skincare products that deliver clinically tested, professional results and skin confidence to clients everywhere.

Today, under Tera’s leadership and visionary belief that devices are skincare, NuFACE continues to lead microcurrent innovation with a list of notable firsts in their product line. Here, she reveals some of the biggest challenges she’s faced and her best pieces of advice.

What's the biggest challenge you've faced in your career as a woman?

The company has grown so much. We’ve faced many different challenges. I’d say in the beginning it centered around the dynamic of a family-owned business. I started off working with my mum and sister but now it’s very different. We have over 100 employees and the competition is fierce. The biggest challenge is staying ahead of everyone else and making sure we’re also 10 steps in front.

"I think our success comes down to how much we support each other. "

NuFACE is a family affair. Can you tell us more about that?

My mum, sister and I co-founded NuFACE in 2005. It actually started with my mum - she’s worked in microcurrent since 1985 and would travel around Hollywood treating lots of famous faces. However, she soon realised that her clients wanted, and needed, more frequent microcurrent treatments. That’s when NuFACE was born.

"One piece of advice I’d give to my younger self would be to live in today."

What do you think your success comes down to?

I think our success comes down to how much we support each other. In fact, I think supporting women in the workplace is really important - especially in our industry. Let's work together as a team and lift each other up.

Do you have any advice for other women?

I’m extremely passionate about NuFACE, and persistent. I think that’s key for anyone who wants to be successful. One piece of advice I’d give to my younger self would be to live in today. Back then, I always wanted to graduate early but you need to enjoy every step of the way.

NuFACE’s range of devices and skincare have been clinically proven to redefine your facial contours, reduce fine lines and reverse signs ageing. So if you want to try a 5-minute facelift, shop their microcurrent tools today.
